RESILIENCE

What started nearly a whole year ago with the purchase of the biggest canvas I’ve ever attempted to work on has now come to a end.

A challenge which led me to paint over previous work twice and begin anew has built up to what I show you here.

Love at first sight.

Months later: A kaleidoscopic melange of color depicting “Dexter”

Detail of “Dexter’s” eye

While have some strong points I felt the piece wasn’t working as a whole. So I applied gesso to start again.

A rushed 2nd subject.

So once more I brushed gesso to cover over a total of six months work.

A relaxed state entered my days as I mixed color to begin a new subject.

Even before the paint went onto the canvas, I knew this time that the results would be good.

5 months passed by, night after night I worked at the easel building, sculpting color to create one of my strongest pieces.

Perspective of size compared to some of my other work.

Such as it is I am still editing down the days of video shot while creating this painting. In the near future I will be posting that video!

Thanks to all that supported me while venturing on this journey, it has been amazing.
