I have many of these small scale canvases that have been calling for me to give them color. Since I had some free time yesterday morning I started on one of them.
Working in a completely unplanned manner I laid down random strokes with paint on the canvas. As I started the second layer, shapes start to form. I went with what the brush told me, layer after layer, following a path. The path deepens as the hours pass by.
Now I sit back and look what has poured out of me… I like it!

I’m interested in making more of these small scale paintings! They allow me to relax on my studio couch while painting; It’s a much more intimate experience with a sense of homeyness.
