Draw365 -Drawing 004
Strolling past my bookshelf while thinking of what I might draw next, my eye caught a book that has been in my possession for a long time; Burne Hogarth’s Dynamic Anatomy. First introduced to me by my art teacher in my junior year of high school, it still remains a strong influence in my creativity. During the last two years of high school, visual anatomy was forced deep down into my collective. Repetition after repetition, learning the exact spelling of each muscle, bone, and ligament that would make a visible difference when moved. All curricula reference material was based off the illustrations in Hogarth’s book.
I removed the book from the shelf, opened it and flipped through the worn, used pages until I found a illustration of a hand that I wanted to draw.

@Wendy1914 Hello Wendy, thank you! Have you been working on any paintings lately?
via Twitoaster
@Jabinya I’ve got 3 on the go, put a couple on twitpic 2day, not got a lot done lately as I have been a little bit ill, better now though.

@Jabinya One of my paintings was accepted by the main gallery in Rugby, Warwickshire, UK which has really blown me away.

@Wendy1914 That’s awesome news! Glad your feeling better, from the look of your twitpic gallery you have still remained very productive!

@Jabinya Have you had any success lately? Love your latest, the dark blue painting.
via Twitoaster
@Wendy1914 The blue painting is going to take months. With the transparency of the paint many more layers are needed.
via Twitoaster
@Jabinya What paint do you use?
via Twitoaster
@Wendy1914 I’m using transparent acrylic mixed with transparent gloss medium.
via Twitoaster
@Jabinya Sounds good, does that make it very shiney looking? I find that the camera often lies when I take photos of paintings.
via Twitoaster
@Wendy1914 Diluting the paint with water leaves a semi glossy luster that when built up in layers looks awesome.
via Twitoaster
@Wendy1914 Your exactly right about photographing artwork, sometimes it is difficult to get a accurate representation.
via Twitoaster
@Jabinya I’ll take at look at your new video, is it on now?
via Twitoaster
@Jabinya Always looks good from this end, you have more patience than me I think. (Reply re: watering the acrylic down).
via Twitoaster
@Wendy1914 Re patience; not as much as you might think, that painting is being put to the side for a while.
via Twitoaster
@Jabinya I’ve started to do the underpainting in acrylic because oil takes to long to dry & fingerprints all over them when testing if dry

I am going to attempt the drawing a day…you’ve inspired me- honestly you are one of the most postive artists I know
keep painting because I am here watching inspired!
@Jabinya interesting. Thanks for sharing!
